Surfline has its post-Snapper Power Rankings out and either the 3-person panel wasn't working or Ian Cairns wrestled for power of the Power Rankings. It should be no surprise that Jordy Smith tops the P.R. for the DVS team but it may come as a bit of a surprise that Jordy (top) is #3 in the P.R. even though he is currently rated #2 on tour. Cairns gave Dane Reynolds the nod for the #2 spot on the P.R. even though Jordy beat arguably the hardest draw in the Quik Pro including Dane, Bede and Kelly. Stop #2 at Bell's Beach is where Jordy had his breakout result in 2009, equaling his best result at the time with a semifinals appearance. Hopefully, he can replicate the same success again this year if not better. Dean Morrison (middle) and Kekoa Bacalso (bottom) are no surprises at 23rd and 27th after their =17th place finishes on the Gold Coast. Kekoa tweeted "my surfing not good enough for Ian Cairns!!! awwwww waaaaa!!!" last night presumably after he saw the Rankings. I didn't really get that from Kanga's breakdown of Bam but the best way to silence critics is to prove them wrong and Bell's suits power surfers like Bam so, look for him to prove Kanga wrong at the next event. You can follow all of our riders tweets via the DVS Twitter. Yesterday, TW posted a South Straddie Super Session gallery and today that have some video posted from that session as well. Jordy has a few waves in there, nothing amazing but he is getting some fun looking warm barrels.

The boys have been enjoying their downtime on the Gold Coast of Australia after last week's World Tour stop #1, Quiksilver Pro. After a big weekend of celebrating, it is now back to work with some great conditions. The photos have been trickling in the last two days from a Super Straddie Session. This one has been posted on Transworld and features some good photos of Jordy Smith who is soaking up the tropical warmth of the Goldie before heading to the bottom of the earth coldness in Tasmania and then onto Bell's Beach. Jordy will try and defend his title at the WQS 6-Star O'Neill Cold Water Classic before heading to Bell's Beach for the second stop on the world tour, The Rip Curl Pro.

Our new DVS ad is out featuring Jordy Smith. The back-story on the ad is it was shot this past winter in Hawaii by photog, Ryan Miller in front of Jordy's O'Neill team house at Pipeline one evening. I'm not sure who painted Jordy's boards, maybe he did but I don't think he has that kind of time or patience so must have been a friend and it was Jordy's idea for the shoot. It took him about an hour to get all his boards from house to beach and setup for the photo. If you want to win a pair of Jordy's sandals then click on the box that says "Enter to win the Jordy 2!" below.

Zigzag scribe Craig Jarvis caught up with our man Jordy Smith, on the Gold Coast after his second place finish at the Quiksilver Pro, who answered some interesting questions on his 'apparent' change of heat tactic's, the ASP's new lease on life, and also gave his gratitude to all his support back home. We are talking South Africa's surfing magazine called ZigZag and not the rolling papers.

Here's a little Sunday morning carton for ya, nah, but it is a surf video featuring Gavin Beschen catching a few on Oahu's North Shore.

Check out the navy seal training Jordy Smith did prior to the start of the 2010 world tour. No wonder the kid was so fit in the Quik Pro in route to his second place finish. Breaking boards in two separate heats, swimming in to retrieve his backups and then running right back out fighting the current without slowing down one bit. It's a long year and that kind of fitness will pay off in the back half in what is sure to be an interesting season – stay tuned!
